Padre Emilio Rodriguez is pastor of the Church of the Transfiguration of the Lord in Torreon, Mexico which is served by the Carmelite Fathers of the Most Pure Heart of Mary Province (same province as our parish, OLMC).

He is building a vibrant Christian community in spite of the poverty and danger his people face every day. The Transfiguration of the Lord just completed a second home for young people whose parents are serving prison sentences in the city jail. Until now these abandoned kids are being cared for until age 13. Then, they had to be sent back to whatever kind home they had or simply back to the streets. In their new home they are safe, fed, clothed and sent to school until they are 18. Many, we hope, will continue on to a community colleges.

OLMC Parish provides 2% from our monthly offertory (approximately $1500) to Padre Emilio's Parish to help him in his missionary work at Torreon, Mexico.
