The Gabriel Project (TGP) of California helps pregnant mothers in need by providing personal assistance directly to the person in need.
YOU CAN BE AN ANGEL AND OUR PARISH CAN BE A HOST OF ANGELS by joining the Respect Life Ministry in our quest to launch our own TGP program.
We are looking for all who are interested and/or may be able to volunteer as an Angel or Angel Assistant to pregnant women who desire to keep their baby. This is ‘hands-on’ assistance to individuals in crisis and we need all the ‘Angels’ out there to join us in this endeavor. It is the “action arm” of the Respect Life Ministry.
Mike Ronco, Director of The Gabriel Project for the Diocese of Sacramento, provided an Orientation Training session for our volunteers recently so we are ready to launch our program at OLMC. Phyllis Kaminska is the Project Coordinator and Lynda Sutton is Co-coordinator. The Project is 501c3 and we will provide receipts for any donations provided to us for this Project, whether material or monetary. Please feel free to contact Phyllis (707) 419-4237 or Lynda (707) 422-2619 to volunteer. We will need many resources to call on for assistance at different times so if you can cook a meal, provide transportation, fix minor mechanical jobs or give in other ways, you will be truly appreciated. Let us know what kinds of help you would like to offer when or if a need arises.
Spiritual Adoption Program
Located in the Dome lobby of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel is this beautiful kiosk for parishioners to purchase educational, inspirational, and enlightening messages about our Catholic faith.
This is a self-service (on your honor) mini-store housing CDs, Booklets and Books, rosaries, scapulars (prices as marked), and on the back side are brochures on many topics. The prices are brought to the parish at the lowest possible prices through the Augustine/Lighthouse Catholic Media. The kiosk is managed through our Respect Life Ministry and was made possible by a donation from the Knights of Columbus.
The funds need to be placed into the slot on the bottom of the kiosk in order to continue to purchase more items. If you have taken items from the kiosk and not paid for them or placed the funds in some other containers, our parish and ministry loses money. We ask you to please donate the needed funds as soon as possible after taking your selections.
Only in this way can the parish continue to bring you these messages which can help you to deepen your faith and evangelize (teach) others.
Some selections are available in Spanish. All items can be ordered on special request by contacting Phyllis Kaminska at (707)419-4237.
